Destinations

Iceland has always belonged to Scandinavia, and so do its closest neighbours — Greenland and the Faroe Islands, both within the Kingdom of Denmark. From our home in Reykjavík, ILE designs private journeys across the Scandinavian family in seven destinations — one team, one point of contact, however many borders the trip crosses.

Our home ground

Iceland

Fire and ice within a few hours' drive: glacier lagoons, black-sand coasts, geothermal valleys, the aurora overhead and the midnight sun. Our full programme runs region by region — North, South, East and West — with born-and-bred guides, our own private estates and a fleet built for the conditions.

The Scandinavian North

Six more of the Scandinavian family, each designed privately with our own knowledge and connections. Greenland and the Faroe Islands share Iceland's North Atlantic and Danish ties; Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland complete the picture. Ideal twin-centred with Iceland, or as a standalone.

On request Greenland

The last great Arctic wilderness. Vast ice fjords, calving glaciers and tiny coloured settlements, with Inuit culture and a scale of landscape that humbles everyone who sees it.

Signature draws: Ilulissat icefjord, helicopter glacier landings, authentic Greenlandic dog sledding, Inuit culture, remote wilderness lodges.
Best: June–September (Arctic summer & midnight sun).
Access: direct flights from Iceland — an easy twin-centre.

On request Faroe Islands

Eighteen green islands of sheer sea-cliffs, turf-roofed villages and hanging waterfalls — wildly cinematic, barely visited, and home to some of the most ambitious New Nordic dining in the North Atlantic.

Signature draws: sea-cliff hikes, turf villages, New Nordic tasting menus, birdlife & boat charters.
Best: May–September (long days, greenest landscapes).
Access: short hop from Iceland — pairs beautifully.

On request Norway

Deep fjords, the dramatic peaks of Lofoten, and an Arctic North where the Northern Lights dance over coastal towns. Summer fjord cruising or winter aurora, both at the highest level.

Signature draws: fjord country, Lofoten, Tromsø & the Arctic, aurora, dog sledding, coastal design hotels.
Best: June–August (fjords) · November–March (aurora).
Access: standalone or paired with Iceland.

On request Denmark

Copenhagen at its most polished — design, hygge and one of the world's great food cities — extended into castle country, coastline and the quiet luxury of the Danish way of life. The seat of the kingdom that Greenland and the Faroe Islands still belong to.

Signature draws: Copenhagen design & gastronomy, castles, coastal escapes, private cultural access.
Best: April–October (mild, long days).
Access: an elegant gateway to Scandinavia.

On request Sweden

From Stockholm's island-strung archipelago to the silence of Swedish Lapland — aurora skies, design-led ice and forest retreats, and Sami culture in the far north.

Signature draws: Lapland & aurora, design ice/forest lodges, dog sledding, Sami culture, Stockholm & archipelago.
Best: Dec–March (Lapland & aurora) · June–August (archipelago).
Access: standalone or with Norway/Finland.

Lapland under the Northern Lights — glass-roofed cabins, snow-still forests, reindeer and Sami heritage in winter; a thousand lakes, saunas and clean Nordic design in summer.

Signature draws: aurora & glass cabins, dog sledding, Sami culture, reindeer, lakeland summers, Helsinki design.
Best: Dec–March (aurora & snow) · June–August (lakeland).
Access: pairs naturally with Sweden & Norway.

Internal review — remove before publish

  • Seven destinations per the brief: Iceland (home) + Greenland, Faroe Islands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland — confirm this is the current offering.
  • Destination copy is Harry's draft — confirm positioning and that we're comfortable marketing each "on request" (knowledge/connections confirmed in the brief).
  • Brand rule (clarified 16 Jun): dog sledding is not offered in Iceland — huskies aren't native and ILE is about authentic experiences. It is a signature, authentic experience in Greenland and Nordic Lapland, and is now featured in the Greenland, Norway, Sweden & Finland cards. No partner companies named (velvet rope).
  • All photos are temporary web images (Wikimedia) — swap for ILE's own rights-cleared shots.
  • Optional next step: a deeper sub-page per destination (draws, sample routing, best season, twin-centre ideas) once copy is approved.
  • Sweden confirmed IN (Dori, 16 Jun) — keep in the lineup. Seven destinations stands.
